Documentation overtime

For each scheduler task an overtime period can be defined, this is the period after the date and time the task is scheduled in which it must be activated.
There are different reasons possible why a scheduler task is not activated. One reason could be that the scheduler queue in which the task was scheduled is closed.
Another reason could be that the database was down and when it was brought up too late some tasks do not need to run anymore or must be manually rescheduled.

Default no overtime period is set when a task is scheduled. So it could be possible that a task is activated days after the original schedule date.

The overtime properties are entered on the script submit window (overtime panel).

Overtime indication

The overtime indication property indicates if an overtime period exists and what action must be taken when the overtime period expires.

Overtime period

The overtime period starts at the time the scheduler task is scheduled. So if a task is scheduled at 2000-01-01 14:00 and the overtime period is one hour then the task will not be activated after 2000-01-01 15:00.

Because the task was scheduled a long time ago the overtime period has expired and the task is not activated.
The scheduler task gets the task not activated Overtime status as can be seen on the task properties window.

Because the overtime indication is Wait the scheduler task must be changed otherwise it is never activated.
Next some solutions are given in case the overtime indication is Wait and the overtime period has expired.
